King Sunny Ade was born Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye, MFR, in Osogbo to a royal family from Ondo, in Ondo State of Western Nigeria on 22nd September 1946. Although his father was a church organist and his mother sang in the church choir, his parents rejected his musical aspirations.
