He had his secondary education at Prospect High School, Abanla, before proceeding to Government College, Ibadan for his A level where he distinguished himself as a brilliant student so much so he gained admission in the first year of the A level class into the University of Ife now Obafemi Awolowo University where he studied International Relations between 1984 and 1988.

Oladipo began his working career as an intern at British American Insurance Company before he later joined Forum Finance as one of the Foundation Members of staff.

Dipo also worked at Land Over Aviation Company, Nigeria and was instrumental to the setting up of Overland Airways.

Thereafter, he joined Vigeo Holding as General Manager, Logistics before resigning from paid employment to start his own company, Famedge Travel & Air Services Limited as well as his consulting firm, Bluehall Advisory Limited.

Arising from these professional programmes which stood him out among development practitioners and with the support of the Afenifere Renewal Group, the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria, DAWN Commission, a non-political, non-governmental organization was midwived.

Dipo Famakinwa was a complete and loving family man.
He got married to the love of his life, Ibironke Awobayikun on 16th April 1994 and they are blessed with three wonderful children; Abisola, Oluwatimilehin and Oluwatofarati.

The life of every great personality is like the sun. The sun brightens and brings life on to the earth, but when the day is gone, the sun will set.

On the fateful day of Friday 21st of April 2017, the sun set and our Director-General, who was not just a boss but a friend and a brother, Oladipo Olusola Famakinwa, was taken away.

Dipo’s memory lives on!
