Theme: “Zero Malaria – Draw the Line Against Malaria”
The DAWN Team, led by the Head, Health & Wellness Desk, Mrs. Gbemisola Olajuwon, on Tuesday, 27th April, 2021 attended a programme organised by the Oyo State Chapter, CSO for Malaria Control, Immunization and Nutrition (ACOMIN) on sensitization/awareness for World Malaria Day at Ojoo Market, Ibadan, to educate the residents of the area on the ills, treatment and prevention of Malaria.
The CSO, with the permission of the Chief Alhaji Abudullahi, Baba Oloja of Ilu Ojoo gave a short lecture to the market women and men about the dangers of malaria on their family, most especially their pregnant wives and children under 5 (Vulnerable group).
The residents were also informed of the intervention of Oyo State Government on distributing Insecticide Treated Nets (ITN) by May 2021 towards achieving ”Zero Malaria” because every case of malaria is preventable, and every malaria death is unacceptable.
