
Yesterday, the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) Commission paid a courtesy visit to the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG) of Oyo State, Professor. Musibau Adetunji Babatunde.
During the visit, the Director General of DAWN Commission, Dr. Seye Oyeleye while congratulating the SSG on this well deserved appointment went memory lane from when the SSG was the Special Adviser to His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde and from there to becoming Oyo State’s Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget and then to this higher responsibility as the Secretary to the State Government. He posited that his elevation is a testament to his excellent devotion and commitment to the progress of the state under the able leadership of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde. The DG also commended the Governor for his excellent judgement in appointing the SSG.
Dr. Oyeleye also reaffirmed the longstanding professional relationship between the Commission and the new SSG and even the SSG office in Oyo State, and expressed the Commission’s commitment to fostering a stronger and more seamless working relationship during his tenure. He further assured the SSG of the Commission’s readiness to collaborate closely with his office in advancing shared developmental objectives for Oyo State and the Southwest Region through the Forum of Southwest Secretaries to the State Governments.
While responding to the DAWN Commission representatives, the SSG commended the commission for being an exemplary organization that drives development and fosters collaboration among the six Southwest States. He further appreciated the congratulatory message and reiterated his full support for the commission’s initiatives, pledging to continue backing efforts towards the development of the region.
Also in the DAWN Commission team are the Head of Special Projects and Funding- Prince Adetayo Adeleke-Adedoyin, the Head of Programmes- Mr Abiodun Oladipo, Head of Economics and Investment Desk, Mr. Adesoji Farayibi, the Head of Data Desk and Research, Dr Lara Ejiade and the Executive Assistant to the Director General, Ms. Titilayo Alice Afolabi.
