THE ESTABLISHED PROBLEM
1. Inadequate funding and lack of accountability in the management of the Education sector, which led to a decline in the standard of education in Oyo State.
HOW THE ETF ENGAGEMENT BEGAN
1. The policy reform is the consequence of introducing a N1,000 education levy and the reintroduction of the payment of WAEC fee by parents of students in public secondary schools in the State in August 2015.
2. These issues raised concerns bothering on policy somersault between promised free education and introducing new fees. Questions of accountability were also raised on old fees such as Development levy, PTA levy and others being paid in public schools in the State.
3. The Civil Coalition for Good Governance (CCGG); a grassroots civil movement in Ibadan North/East LGA, decided that the issues raised needed to be given voice.
