In a bid to make Farming a profitable business and interesting venture to the People of Southwest Nigeria, the Southwest Farmers Association, in conjunction with the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN), on Tuesday, 6th June, 2018 signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a Data Gathering Firm, Orbital Solutions Global Services Limited, operating on the Platform of ‘AgroXchange’ so as to put an end to loss of harvest and avoidable clashes between Farmers and Fulani Herdsmen.
The MoU was done yesterday at the DAWN Office, Cocoa House, Dugbe, Ibadan where the Director General of the Commission, Mr. Seye Oyeleye, the Chairman of the Southwest Farmers Association, Mr Olusegun Dasaolu and AgroXchange Managing Director, Mr. Adewale Adegoke, all appended their Signatures to the MoU.
The meeting included other stakeholders among them were Southwest Zone Chairman, Maiyetti Allah Cattle Dealers Association of Nigeria, Alhaji Muhammed Kabir Labar (the Sarkin Fulani of Abeokuta), as well as representatives of the Farmers\' Association in all the States of the Zone.
Speaking on the Occasion, the Director General of DAWN Commission said the objective of the Partnership was to do everything possible to make Farming very profitable for our Farmers in the Southwest. We cannot continue to rely on when the rain will come before embarking on our Farming business
