In line with the efforts of the Governments of the States of Western Nigeria (SoWN) towards engaging the citizenry on Budget Process as a form of inclusive governance practice, DAWN Commission in conjunction with BudgIT, a Tech Civic Organisation, notable for applying tech based tools to simplify national budget for the purpose of raising the standard of transparency and accountability in governance process, is organising a \"Capacity Development Workshop\" for Civil Society Organisation (CSOs) operating in the region on how to effectively engage with the States’ budget process.
Essentially, the workshop will focus on:
Equipping the CSOs with requisite skills to understand and effectively engage public budget process and how to employ acquired skills.
Sharing with CSOs tools that can be useful for their engagements in the media.
While also deepening the CSOs knowledge of Open Government Partnership (OGP) - what it entails and how their organizations can be part of the process.
This effort is geared towards engendering a robust Citizens-Governments relationship and thereby making the region a cynosure of good governance.
