Following the successful hosting of the just concluded African Drum Festival by Ogun State, the Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has given thumbs up to the organizing committee for a job well done.
Amosun, who gave the appreciation during the extended executive council meeting in Abeokuta, thanked the media, the technical crew and the security operatives for the success of the event.
The Governor equally appreciated the Minister for Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the festival's consultant, Prof. Wole Soyinka, traditional rulers, participating troupes, guests and the people of the state, for gracing the event, assuring that the festival has indeed come to stay.
Speaking with journalists after the meeting, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Bashorun Muyiwa Oladipo said the three-day event was very successful, adding that next year's edition would be hosted in a bigger venue to accommodate more people.
The Commissioner who noted that this year’s edition had more participating troupes, states and countries, compared to last year's event, attested to the fact that the economic benefit of the people and that of the state had increased.
On his part, the Chief Executive Officer of Z-Mirage, Alhaji Teju Kareem thanked the Governor and members of the executive council for their support and for giving him the opportunity to display his creativity.
