The National Business and Technical Education Board (NABTEB), has craved for a working relationship between the State Government and the Board in the area of human capital development, at the Ogun State Technical Institute, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta.
The South West Zonal Coordinator of the Board, Mr. Adesoji Aderonmu, who made the call during a courtesy visit to the State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Modupe Mujota, commended government’s initiative at establishing the Institute, which he noted would help in addressing unemployment in the zone.
Aderonmu while correcting the impression that Technical Institutes were meant for dropouts, said technical and vocational education were veritable means of getting livelihood, even after graduating from tertiary institutions, urging the State Government to replicate such facility in other Senatorial Districts.
‘’Gone are those days when people think that technical school graduates are dropouts. Knowledge of technical and vocational education is still very important, no matter the certificate you possess,’’ he submitted.
Responding, Mrs. Mujota, said the Institute was established with the belief that, a country that was technically inclined, would excel in all spheres of science and technology.
