The Ondo State Ministry of Regional Integration and Special Duties in partnership with the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria on Tuesday, 19th December, 2017 held a stakeholders Sensitization Forum on the Regional Integration Agenda for Western Nigeria
The event took place at the Royal Birds Hotel, Alagbaka, Akure, Ondo State. The Forum had in attendance the Ag. Director-General of DAWN Commission, Mr. Seye Oyeleye; Chairman of the Afenifere Renewal Group (ARG), Hon. Wale Oshun; Professor Ladipo Adamolekun, Secretary of the Afenifere Renewal Group (ARG), Bashorun Sehinde Arogbofa; Prof. Banji Akintoye among others
Prof Banji Akintoye, in his speech, said we the Yoruba are one people and proud children of Oduduwa. According to him the Yoruba are the owners of majority of people of Kwara, 1/3 of Kogi, Itsekiri in Delta, 1/4 of Benin and Togo and Local government in Ghana. We start from lower banks of the Niger to the West and the world is watching and studying the Yoruba nation.
He emphasized that the Yoruba nation has become a source of great quest for knowledge and God intended and has made us distinguished all around the world.
The Ag. DG of DAWN spoke on the Pillars of Development at DAWN Commission. He emphasized on the need for the Six States in Western Nigeria to continue to work together on the Infrastructure Development of the Region in order to build a formidable Economy that would eventually guarantee the Social and Human Development of the people in the Region.
